How do you lose weight and your love handles?
aerobics equipmentQuestion by Emily R: How do you lose weight and your love handles?
I’m about 170 pounds, and I really need to slim down. I need exercises that I can do around the house, that help, because I don’t have any equipment to use. What kind of cardio can I do that will help me? And how the heck do you get rid of love handles? Nothing’s been working for me! Please help me out!

For the love handles, buy dumb bells..no more than like 5 lbs…stand with legs shoulder length apart and weights in hands….shift weight and lean to one side..the side being leaned on, the arm will lower and the opposite weight will raise….then move back to resting position and switch sides….does multiple sets a day….try also a medicine ball when u do crunches…

Cardio in your house could consist of jumping-jax, jogging in place, going outside and walking, jogging, or running. Love handles can be targeted by doing side crunches – same as regular but instead of being flat on your back, lift one side off of the floor and crunch. You can also try side bends/crunch, where you stand with feet shoulder length apart, put left hand behind your head, right arm is down by your side. bend right side down so that your hand goes past your knees, come up and “crunch” your left side. Repeat 10-15 times on right side and then switch to left to complete 1 set. Do 3 sets. I hope that makes sense. It’s hard to type out a motion.

The best thing to do is diet, do at least 20 minutes of cardio 3 or 4 times a week, and not snack. Try joining an aerobics class… I lost about 20 pounds by taking an aerobics class that was an hour long twice a week for 10 weeks but I saw really good results in about a month. Love handles are hard to get rid of, but if you lose weight, those will go down. A good exercise for love handles is sideways sit-ups. Lay on your back at first, then turn your legs so the knee on the side you put them is almost on the ground. do reps of 20 on each side at first, ten gradually do more. You can also lay completely on your side with your legs bent, those hurt really bad but it will work those muscles. Bicycle sit-ups are awesome too. Lay on your back with your knees bent and up in the air. Do a sit-up and try to touch your elbow to the opposite knee, and at the same time extend the other leg completely straight. Alternate legs and do reps with that too. Also, go on walks and keep yout abs flexed the entire time. Actually, flex your abs any time you can, like all day if you can. the more they are flexed the stronger the muscles will get. However, the only way to lose the fat is to lose weight. You can’t lose weight in only one part of your body (unless you get plastic surgery). Best of luck to you!! 🙂 I have problems with weight too so you are not alone!!
