To bad you don’t have horses. They do all the work, but you still burn massive calories. I love horseback riding. It’s quite peaceful. The calorie burning is just an awesome bonus.

That’s easy, and not dangerous. Bicycle aerobically for 30 miles (30 *40 calories = 1200 calories). Then reduce your caloric intake by 1300 calories. That shouldn’t be hard if you’ve already been eating like crap. That’s only 260 calories over 5 meals.
Now, if you’re not already fit enough to do that, it will take time. Additionally, you will need to restock you proteins and carbohydrates. It seems silly to refill with calories, but you will need the energy to complete the next ride. Good luck, and stay hydrated.
On average, 1 mile run = 100 calories, 1 mile bike = 40 calories, and 1 mile swim = 100 calories.
It’s not so much what you burn, but what you cut back on as well, like nicotine, alcohol, caffein, etc. Don’t listen to them….a marathon runner will burn more than 2600 calories, but that can take up to 12 weeks to build up that endurance. There was a guy recently that ran 1 marathon everyday for 50 days. It’s not impossible, it just takes time and dedication.

Get a pedometer and walk. Some pedometers will tell you how many extra calories you are burning above and beyond what your body burns every day just existing.
The more muscle mass you have the more calories you’ll burn. Get some weights.

I have to agree with willow, 2500 calories a day would be like running 4 miles an hour on a tread mill at a 15 degree incline for 3-4 hours. It’s way to much to try to burn that amount in a day. I spend an average of about 1 1/2 hours a day in the gym and burn a max of about 1,000 calories, but believe me it is a very intense workout and it has taken me 2 1/2 years of working out at least 4-5 times per week to get to this level. You should set a reasonable goal of say 500 calories as a starting point and work up from there. Good luck, but don’t go crazy over doing this or you will hurt yourself and then just get discouraged and give up all together.

You really can’t. Though it is theoretically possible, You could only keep it up for one day, and you would feel absolutely broken afterwards. 500 calories a day is a good, somewhat high goal. Go on an elliptical machine that counts calories and see how hard it is to burn 500 calories…..
